Research by the University of Auckland has found the answer to one of the cuisine world’s burning questions.
The “Covid Kai survey” asked almost 3000 people how they decided what to cook for dinner each night in lockdown, and unsurprisingly comfort food was found to be quite popular.
Another finding was that the single person, organisation or brand with the most influence over which recipes people chose to make was celebrity chef and dietitian Nadia Lim.
She told Heather du Plessis-Allan that with people at home more often, they're taking much longer to prepare and cook food.
“When you get home from work and you’ve been sitting in traffic for an hour, you’re so rushed to get dinner on the table, so everyone who’s in lockdown: make the most of it.”
