New reports claim a Sydney resident who tried to dial triple zero on an older device couldn't make the call - and died as a result.
TPG claimed it wasn't impacted by a network outage, but investigations show the customer was using a Samsung device using software that was not compatible with making triple-zero calls.
Australian correspondent Murray Olds says the Australian cellphone giants urged customers to update their devices, but reports indicate not all of them qualified.
