Democrats in New Zealand are not ruling out a win for Joe Biden.
The presidential race is a lot closer than initially expected, with Donald Trump and Biden locked in close races in several key battleground states.Â
Mike Haught, chair of the Democrats Abroad, is holding a party in Auckland.
He told Heather du Plessis-Allan they're predicting a full-on night.
"Covid has changed a lot of the way that America votes. We're going to have a lot of votes trickling in over an extended period of time.
"It was going to be a weird election from the get go."Â
He says that it is an early night, and some states will be coming in quite slowly.Â
Haught says that Michigan is one of the states where mail-in ballots will be counted last.Â
