The New Zealand media industry has suffered big blows this reporting season.

NZME today announced its half-year results, noting a 73 percent fall in profits down to $950,000.

Revenue fell four percent to $181 million.

This comes one week after Sky announced a loss of $608 million and the Australian-owned publisher of Stuff reported a decline of 10 percent in revenue.

AUT media researcher Merja Myllylahti joined Mike Yardley to discuss how the media companies are performing.
