Some Eden Park residents would prefer concerts to be held in the city, not a residential area.

The Eden Park Trust is applying for resource consent to host up to six cultural and music events per year.

The current system requires individual applications for each concert.

Eden Park Neighbours Association president Mark Donnelly told Heather du Plessis-Allan he'd rather the stadium host sports events only.

"A concert by itself is at least two weeks major disruption, but also this now takes the night events at Eden Park up to about 35 a year."
