The Australian woman who refused to take a Covid-19 test in MIQ says she may be staying in New Zealand a while longer to bring forward judicial review proceedings.

Lucinda Baulch is leaving isolation in Wellington tonight after spending 28 days in the Grand Mercure.

It's not the first time she challenged Covid-19 rules, and back in Australia, she participated in an anti-lockdown protest.

Baulch told Heather du Plessis Allan she'll know time frames about the review in the next few days.

"My intention was to head straight back to Australia. It does look with the judicial filing date there os a chance I'll be staying back in New Zealand until a hearing."

She says that she wanted information on whether the test is safe, the results would be accurate, and that the test would be necessary.

"I think there is just so much information, and I've got a medical background, and I understand informed consent."

Baulch that the fact there can be false-negatives and false-positives concerned here, and she was not given information to specify what would happen to her if she tested positive.

She agrees that she could sound like she is being difficult, but insists that there is some evidence that the nasal swabs are dangerous.
