A Christchurch singer has taken song requests from people in managed isolation next to the bar where she works.

Lee Martin has been doing gigs this year at OGB Bar in Cathedral Square, which is right next door to the Distinction Hotel, which is a MIQ facility.

Some of those staying there say Martin's gigs have been helping them to get through their two weeks.

Martin told Heather du Plessis-Allan that she has even been taking song requests from those at the hotel.

She says that it has made the gigs more special, for both her and the patrons at the bar. 

"It makes it so special because I feel like all of us feel like we're part of something else, part of making someone's day a little bit better."
