A Waikato-based music trio have pulled the pin on playing music by a Russian composer because of the war in Ukraine.
The piece, by Dmitri Shostakovich, was dropped by the New Zealand Chamber Soloists ahead of their upcoming show in Christchurch.
Other members of the classical music community have criticised the move, saying its censorship and cancel culture.
Katherine Austin, the trio’s pianist, joined Andrew Dickens.
