The Timaru crash that killed 5 teenagers has sent shockwaves through the nation.

The crash, the South Island's worst in two decades, happened shortly before 7.30pm on Saturday at the intersection of Seadown and Meadows roads in Washdyke, near Timaru.

Speed was considered to be a factor in the crash.

But what do you do if you have a driver in your household who is a fast or dangerous driver?

John Finch, the creator of the Right Track, a driving programme for people who have been charged with driving convictions told Andrew Dickens rather than telling individuals not do drive fast, in his program they ask why and are there better ways? Which empowers the individuals to make better decisions.
