There are hopes Governments, pharmaceutical companies and vaccine producers produce a vaccine that is free to all.
Oxfam's pushing for a 'People's Vaccine' - but it will only be possible if pharmaceutical corporations forego monopolies and allow vaccines to be produced as widely as possible.
Oxfam New Zealand's Joanna Spratt says people need to speak up worldwide for a free vaccine.
"We have an election coming up here in NZ, and we need to make sure we use our voices to demand the government and pharmaceutical companies do the right thing."
Wealthy nations have already bought up more than half future supply of leading Covid-19 vaccine contenders.
She says our Government's put a lot of money into supporting vaccine production here - as well as supporting global efforts.
"Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern was saying we would secure doses for New Zealand but we would share and put Pacific neighbours as a priority, and then alos contribute to the global pool."
