How long do you stick with a book you’re not enjoying.

UK author Mark Billingham came out and said that if a book hasn't gripped you by 20 pages, you should through it across the room and you should be reasonably angry.

He reckons he gives up on half the books he starts because life is just too short and there are too many great books out there.

Jenna Todd from Time Out Bookstore in Mt Eden told Heather du Plessis-Allan she respects his beliefs but would give it a bit more than 20 pages.

“I actually try and finish every single book I read no matter what, and I have a trick, it’s a bit hard in Covid times, but if I was having trouble with a book, I’d take it on a plane with me and read it on that.”
