Relief for the Bay of Plenty after police have taken down the local chapter of the Mongols gang.
Raids have found firearms, homemade explosives, drugs, cash and vehicles at 10 properties.
At least 228 charges will be laid.
The gang's been having turf wars in the area since members deported from Australia set up shop.
Detective Superintendent Greg Williams says the arrest will have a serious impact on their operations.
"Since January this year I understand there have been six shootings that have involved the Mongols and other rival gangs, of which people have been charged with."Â
He says that it is pleasing that they are off the streets.Â
"This violence that they are perpetuating, the shootings that have been going on in the area obviously has caused a serious impact on the wellbeing of the community."
