New Zealand will switch to a new traffic light system to suppress Covid when all DHBs reach a 90 per cent vaccination rate.
Businesses will be able to operate at any level — but with increased health and safety measures in the orange and red zone.
But Retail New Zealand's CEO Greg Harford told Andrew Dickens we also need a date for when the population must hit the vaccine target.
“Setting that date will create a sense of urgency. People who are sitting there and thinking ‘I’m not so sure if I need to rush into this’, the reality is we do. Businesses are under pressure, families are under pressure.”
