The Deputy Prime Minister wants to keep building Kiwis' trust in the Government.
Grant Robertson says the Government has a mandate to get on with issues like housing, climate change and child poverty.
He says you always have to be careful with mandates because you need public trust.
But Robertson told Heather du Plessis-Allan that doesn't come on silver platter.
"You've got to respect that, you've got to earn and re-earn in the trust of New Zealanders every single day."
He says 2020 has been one of the hardest years of his life, and he thinks most New Zealanders would say the same.Â
"Obviously we had an election result that was an amazing result for us, but Covid has dominated everything and it has had such a disruptive effect on our lives."
Robertson also weighed in on the Covid-19 vaccine, house prices and the trans-Tasman travel bubble.Â
