The Finance Minister says we have to strike a balance when it comes to financially supporting business and events.

Many events have been disrupted, due to Auckland being in Alert Level Three and the rest of the country in Level Two.

The national rowing champs in Twizel is on hold and the first day of Napier's Art Deco Festival has been cancelled on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, many businesses are now closed until at least Wednesday night under the alert level restrictions.

Grant Robertson told Heather du Plessis-Allan it's difficult for Government to give one-off assistance to particular things.

"We recognise that if this goes on for a week, then we will trigger, but in these three days we are asking for that sharing of the burden that we've had."
