Concern following the confirmation of two Covid-19 cases in Northland.
The pair, understood to be a mother and daughter, are contacts of a recently diagnosed Auckland case.
They were permitted to travel from Auckland to Kaikohe and are now in isolation there.
A limited number of close contacts have been identified and are being tested.
Ngati Hine Health Trust chief executive Geoff Milner told Andrew Dickens he's worried for the community.
“The location where the two whanau members live are rurally somewhere between Kaikohe and Kaitaia, are in areas of a highly unvaccinated population, high Maori population.”
