Is this the end of the hotel breakfast buffet?

Covid rules have forced all hotels to revert to a la carte for hygiene reasons,  but now that restrictions have been lifted, reports say some hotels are ditching the buffet for good.

Auckland's Cordis Hotel specialises in buffets for breakfast, lunch and dinner, but had to adopt table service under coronavirus restrictions.

However - the buffets are coming back this weekend!

Managing director Franz Mascarenhas told Heather du Plessis-Allan that people have been requesting it.

"Though we had to change in the earlier alert levels, we want to bring back the buffet, because that's the kind of demand that we've had from our regular customers."
