Dating apps are booming right now during the lockdown.

As people are at home with more time on their hands, apps like Tinder and Bumble are seeing a boom in downloads and activity – though, of course, few people are actually meeting up.

So how do you navigate love in the lockdown, and the new phenomenon of "digital dating"?

Emily McLean, founder of Matchstick Dating, told Heather du Plessis-Allan that people still want to find connections right now, even if they can't meet.

She says that people should make sure that they aren't trying to make a one-sided conversation work, as they may just find themselves serving as boredom buster.

"Make sure that they're putting in just as much effort as you in the conversation."

McLean says that people will be able to build connections rather than having hookups.
