Labour councillor Efeso Collins has confirmed he's standing for the Auckland mayoralty.  

Talk is swirling that Phil Goff will not seek a third term in the role this year.  

The Manukau ward councillor says he wants to make Tamaki Makaurau last the distance for his daughters, and the city's younger generations.  

Collins told Heather du Plessis-Allan one of his key policies is fares free travel on public transport. 

“I think we can do a lot better; we can address our climate emissions by ensuring people get out of their gas guzzlers and make sure their travelling on the bus and the ferry.”
