A Christchurch research facility hopes clinical trials for a Covid-19 vaccine come to New Zealand.

The first clinical trial is recruiting for volunteers in the US and the UK - offering people $7,000s to be infected.

The Times reports that up to 24 people will be paid to be infected and monitored for two weeks, where they will be banned from outside contact. 

The Queen Mary BioEnterprises Innovation Centre in London is one of 20 firms globally that are racing to find a cure to the disease.
