Sonar picked up underwater banging in the North Atlantic Ocean during searches for a missing submersible with five people on board.

It comes amid a multinational race against time to find the sub before their oxygen runs out.

US Correspondent Dan Mitchinson says the banging noises happening every 30 minutes are giving recue teams hope that the submersible will be found.
