Life after Covid-19 will look quite different for a lot of sectors, and one of them could be the fashion industry.
Dame Trelise Cooper is leading the call for fast fashion to take a backseat when this is all over, and return the industry to an 'in season' timetable.
She told Heather du Plessis-Allan that would be an alignment with the season and nature.
Currently, she says that fashion houses are delivering spring and summer clothing at the end of July.
"We've been given this opportunity to give a pause and really look at where we are in the world, and I think it's a great opportunity to realign some of our thinking and the way in which we do business."
Dame Trelise says she wants to make a positive change for fashion and put aside outdated rules and sell clothes closer to the season.
She says that current the previous 'seasons' have been shortened due to clothes being released earlier, meaning that clothes are put on sale earlier.Â
She also thinks that manufacturers have an opportunity to make more timeless fashion rather than cheap clothes that last for a shorter timeframe.Â
