A Countdown worker says having their 10 percent bonus scrapped is a slap in the face.
Countdown and Foodstuffs provided the bonus to staff during the level four lockdown.
But it's being scrapped when the country moves to alert level three on Tuesday.
The worker, who wishes to remain anonymous, told Heather du Plessis-Allan working conditions have been tough over the past few weeks.
"For most of us, it was recognition, that is all it was to us. They recognised all of the hard work we were doing."
