Police say the protests outside Parliament isn't something they can arrest their way out of.
Wellington District Commander Superintendent Corrie Parnell told Heather du Plessis-Allan they tested that yesterday.
“That resulted in excess of 120 arrests, that’s simply not an option, it’s not an end state option.”
Parnell says moving the more than 100 vehicles, including trucks, campervans and cars clogging the roads has been a fundamental priority.
He says there's been resistance from tow truck companies to help, but not because they're sympathising with the protestors.
“They have received, sadly, threats throughout the day and also yesterday, and some of that has come from abroad.”
