The tourism industry is waiting for Monday's announcement on level 2 for what it will mean for them.Â
On domestic travel, which was previously restricted under the level 2 guidelines, Jacinda Ardern said people will be allowed to move "safely" around the country.
People should keep physical distance, for example, at airports.
This will boost domestic tourism, she said, and people will be excited to get a haircut and have a holiday.
But she added that domestic travel for a large gathering was "not a safe purpose for travel".
Tourism Industry Aotearoa's Chris Roberts told Heather du Plessis-Allan that Air New Zealand is getting ready to expand their limited network.
"Hopefully by about Thursday next week, we are into level 2."
He believes there will be sufficient hospitality that people will be looking for while travelling.Â
Roberts says surveys show that people are ready to go exploring and support local businesses.Â
