Disappointment police officers still have to man Auckland's northern border over summer.
It's understood about 300 cops will be redeployed from around New Zealand once Tamaki Makaurau's border lifts on Wednesday next week.
Police Association President Chris Cahill told Heather du Plessis-Allan it doesn't make sense.
“It just doesn't seem a great use of police resources. Police have been manning those checkpoints in Auckland since August. They were told they were going to be shutting down on the 15th of December.”
