Chris Bishop is rejecting criticism over shifting money from Kainga Ora into his electorate's cycle project not prioritised by his Government.
The Housing and Transport Minister re-allocated stormwater upgrade funding into a cycle bridge linking Melling Railway Station and the Lower Hutt city centre.
Labour's Chris Hipkins has questioned the move - claiming the Government had cancelled the project.
Bishop says that's not quite true.
He explained the Government made changes to cycling and walking plans and it became unlikely the bridge would receive funding - but it wasn't actually cancelled.
