Covid Response Minister Chris Hipkins has backtracked on saying Aucklanders could be given time slots to leave the city.  

Today, he emphasised no decision's been made.  

National's Chris Bishop told Heather du Plessis-Allan we need to get the country to 85 percent fully vaccinated and drop the border. 

“It’s just going to be way too hard, completely impractical and, frankly, immoral to keep Aucklanders imprisoned over Christmas.”
