Burk Uzzle’s photograph became an iconic image of Woodstock.

Jimi Hendrix, The Who, Santana, Janis Joplin: it's 50 years since they all played at the world's most famous festival - Woodstock.

With about 400,000 festival goers and radio announcements to tell people to stop coming, it was either the greatest party or one hell of a disaster whichever way you choose to look at it.

One who was among it all was Burk Uzzle. The photojournalist shot one of the most iconic pictures of the festival, showing two people hugging in the middle of the whole carnage.

Uzzle joined Heather du Plessis-Allan to discuss how the photo came to be and what the atmosphere at Woodstock was really like.
