Radius Care has decided that nine weeks in lockdown is more than enough and decided to allow visitors back for the mental health of their residents, despite Ministry of Health guidelines.
Founder and chairman Brien Cree told Andrew Dickens the decision stems from the inevitability of living with Covid.
“If we’re going to start living with it from our point of view as a company, we have the most vulnerable people but they also are in the twilight years of their life. So we decided we can’t keep keeping these families apart, it’s just not right. It’s not why all of us are in aged care.”
