An upcoming film about the Christchurch attacks has sparked anger in the Muslim community.

Kiwi director Andrew Niccol's behind the project, which appears to centre around the Prime Minister's response to the shooting.

The Islamic Women's Council's Anjum Rahman told Heather du Plessis-Allan she's less than thrilled about the movie.

"I don't think this is a good way to tell what is a very important and tragic story and if anything, they should be centring the victims and those affected by the attack."
