More than 4000 people have been jabbed on the first day of the South Auckland mass vaccination so far with vaccinations still continuing.

The event aims to vaccinate more than 16,000 people over three days with 5000 booked for today.

Northern Region mass vaccination lead Alex Pimm told Heather du Plessis-Allan there have been a few people booked in who haven't turned up.

“So I would just encourage everybody with an appointment booked tomorrow or Sunday to make sure that they arrive at their appointment time at MIT campus and we look forward to seeing them over the weekend.”
