The Cancer Society has welcomed a government investment in breast and cervical screenings, but says more is needed.
The multi-million dollar upgrade will see a self-swab cervical test introduced, as well as a better system for inviting women to have a breast screening.
Cancer Society Chief Executive Lucy Elwood says they'd like to see more done for other screenings too, such as bowel and lung cancer.
"Across the whole cancer spectrum, there's lot of areas where we can improve our screening regime so we can catch these cancers early enough so they are easier to treat."
She says we need to get on and get them implemented.Â
