There could be a large gang presence in parts of Auckland today.

The Head Hunters are preparing a funeral procession to farewell one of their own.

Taranaki Fuimaono died in Auckland Hospital on Saturday, after the 43-year-old was found unresponsive in police custody.

Police will be monitoring to ensure the cortege is carried out safely.

National party leader Judith Collins told Kate Hawkesby Police have the messaging the wrong way around.

“Police should be warning the gang members that they will be arrested for any breaches of the law, like every other law abiding person is treated.”
