Tomorrow marks the 10th anniversary of the global recession, and a recent analysis by the Washington Post has found many lawmakers and aides who crafted Congress' response to the crisis are now working for Wall Street.
That pattern is being described by the Washington Post's policy reporter as a stark illustration of how policymakers sought to profit from the financial sector while it was in crisis.
Washington Post policy reporter Jeff Stein told Kate Hawkesby the research led to some revealing statistics.
"Over and over the names which have come up have gone on to work for companies like Goldman Sachs."
