Some homeless women in Auckland will soon be able to have a roof over their heads.
Auckland City Mission's taken a lease on a city apartment building, to provide a women-only shelter for the city's homeless.
Its social services manager Helen Robinson told Kate Hawkesby the apartment block has 15 studios, each with a bathroom and kitchenette.
She says each woman who comes into Te Whare Hinatore will receive shelter, care and support.
"that support will help them to respond to the issues they're experiencing and to get them into permanent accommodation."
