The Rugby World Cup is proving to be a winner for Spark - even if its coverage hasn't impressed some rugby fans.

Spark says it had no technical or capacity issues during the four Rugby World Cup quarter finals, despite the platform receiving its highest audience to date.

Greg Smith from Fat Prophets told Kate Hawkesby while some customers aren't happy, Spark shareholders certainly are.

"Shares are up 1.1 per cent on Friday, they are actually up three per cent since the tournament started despite the various glitches."

He says some customers are reporting issues, but Spark says they aren't related to the streaming service.

"Complaints on social media about buffering, good old pixelation, the company's come back and said its due to customer's broadband, but I guess isn't that half the point."
