Previously unseen footage of Princess Diana is to be aired in a new film about her private life.

The Channel Four documentary is to be shown in Britain, made from old video tapes of her speaking with a voice coach.

Europe correspondent Gavin Grey told Nadine Higgins it's facing a huge backlash, even before going to air.

"Critics are saying the film is exploitative and ghoulish. Channel 4 is being accused of being hurtful to the relatives and Diana's brother just says please don't show these on television. They were not mean to be shown, they were private."

Last week a documentary which featured Prince William and Prince Harry talking about their mother for the first time, was extremely well received.

Elsewhere in Europe,  the gunman who shot a doorman dead in a German nightclub, was the son-in-law of the establishment's owner.

Several others were wounded in last night's attack, and the gunman was shot dead by police.

MrGrey said the country's on edge after a knife attack in a supermarket on Friday.

But he told Nadine Higgins German officials are assuring the latest shooting isn't linked.

"Police have once again moved very, very quickly to say that, although the attacker was a 34-year-old Iraqi citizen, they say he was not an asylum seeker and it was not a terrorist motive."
