There are fears a second spike of Covid-19 is on its way to Europe, as countries record increases in virus cases.Â
Spain is now comparable along with Sweden and Portugal for the number of cases per 100,000 people.
Cases in the country has tripled in the last two weeks, with over 900 new infections reported on Friday.Â
UK-Europe correspondent Gavin Grey says this spells bad news for European countries that rely on travelers this time of year.
"There's no doubt at all now that with the holiday season and the reliance on tourism for countries like Spain, Portugal, France... this is a big big set-back."
Mr Grey says UK citizens returning from Spain now need to self isolate - a process that is expected to impact around 600,000 people.
