The Act Party says it's time for user pays when it comes to managed isolation or quarantine.

The budget for the cost of managed isolation and quarantine to June 30 is $81 million but another $298 million had been budgeted for the following six months to December.

Prime Minister Ardern says the Government's looking at requiring a co-payment from arrivals for the cost of isolation and Cabinet will consider that in the coming weeks.

Act Party leader David Seymour told Kate Hawkesby he's heard of someone who went to the States for a birthday and was quite happy to do two weeks quarantine on the taxpayer.

"It should be one-entry if you were overseas before the border closed on March 14th, and after that there's got to be co payments or user pays."

Seymour says he's heard of someone who went to the States for a birthday and was quite happy to do two weeks quarantine on the taxpayer.
