Hidden costs are starting to creep in as some businesses encourage employees to work from home.
KiwiSaver provider AMP has revealed it's moving a proportion of its staff out of its offices in the Auckland and Wellington CBDs.
Colliers Christchurch office leasing director Brynn Burrows told Kate Hawkesby businesses need to know the true costs of shifting from offices.
"One of the big things to consider is the effect that sending employees home will have on the company's culture."
Burrows says this culture is lost when workers are at home and can be the difference between employers going to a competitor.
