Jacinda Ardern is expected to stand firm over the treatment of New Zealanders in Australia when she meets her counterpart in Melbourne.
The Prime Minister meets Scott Morrison today.
Newstalk ZB political editor Barry Soper told Kate Hawkesby one of the key topics is likely to be the lack of pathways to citizenship.
“She brings the issue up every time, it's the same with previous Prime Ministers as well. But they didn’t do it with the same enthusiasm as Ardern does it with, which I think is very refreshing.”
Barry Soper says Jacinda Ardern is taking a hard line on the issue, saying many of the people deported have little or no connection to this country.
