Donald Trump will be having a Merry Christmas.

The US President made an unlikely speech at a Boy Scouts Jamboree - announcing he will allow people to say Merry Christmas, instead of Happy Holidays - come the festive season.

Journalist Sarah Kramer said the speech, which is traditionally about service, took a bizarre political turn as Mr Trump went on to bolster his health care bill.

She told Nadine Higgins many Boy Scouts were left disappointed.

"The American people - they will be able to say Merry Christmas when they go shopping this year. The really strange thing about this speech is past presidents have never used this to promote their political platform."
