Amidst the Covid-19 gloom, it's heartening to hear stories of businesses who are doing well right now, and one of them is Sharesies.

The online investment platform has an exciting new development, it's now offering US stocks to Kiwi investors.

Sharesies co-founder Leighton Roberts told Kate Hawkesby investors will now be able to access global companies such as Apple, Disney and Tesla.

"Investors will also be able to invest into different countries, economies and sectors as well."

Roberts says the average investor on Sharesies is aged between 25 - 40, and the average portfolios a little over $3000.
