The UK's ramping up defensive efforts by sending four fighter jets to Qatar. 

It's also bolstering the British military base in Cyprus by sending an additional anti-drone helicopter and a British destroyer. 

Missiles are continuing to fly from Iran to the Gulf states, with the UAE and Bahrain the latest in the firing line. 

Prime Minister Keir Starmer's defended his position not to get involved with initial strikes.
