Pop-up libraries outside and Zoom gym classes in parks, are being touted as possible solutions for Covid-19 restrictions.
Urban designer Emma McInnes told Kate Hawkesby these places and playgrounds have to be shut during level three because they need too much cleaning.
But she says children could play in their streets more.
“ Google Earth has a function with which you can log where children are playing, and it discourages cars from going that way.”
McInnes says we could do things like provide more hand washing near bus stops, and ensure there's backdoor boarding.
She says bus drivers could be issued with face masks and Hop cards to give out.
“Instead of putting all buses at peak times, we should be spread throughout the day so people are assured they'll be able to get on."
