A young Australian woman has tragically died after being struck down with Covid one day after a holiday in Bali.

Hayley Beadman, from Aldinga in South Australia, died at an Adelaide hospital on Tuesday after going into a myocarditis-induced cardiac arrest.

The 24-year-old and her partner Ben Moore tested positive for Covid on November 23 after arriving back from their holiday.

Less than 24 hours later, Hayley started experiencing chest pains. An ambulance was called and she was taken to hospital for further investigation of her symptoms.

While in hospital her heart stopped, and hospital staff performed CPR for 50 minutes.

What followed was an induced coma which Hayley’s family said she had eventually woken from, with the young woman thought to have been on the road to recovery in recent weeks.

Medics went so far as to call her “the sickest woman in Adelaide” during the brave fight.

“She is now awake. She is blinking on demand and her eyes are moving around the room watching everyone,” a GoFundMe for Hayley read.

However, in a tragic twist, Hayley lost her month-long battle with myocarditis, a condition that causes the heart to inflame, this week.

Friend Moni Burrell who had started a GoFundMe on Hayley’s behalf said her loss has been profound.

“Beautiful girl, you have left a hole in all of our hearts,” she wrote on Facebook.

“I find it hard at times to be my weird silly self around others. but you allowed it from the start and turned my weirdness volume right up.

“Thank you for being you and thank you for loving me for me.”

Hayley and Ben had been together for five years and recently bought their first house together in Aldinga, south of Adelaide.
