The Wall Street Journal reports a basic, 30-second ad for Super Bowl XLIX today will set a company back a whopping $4.5 million.

That's $9 million a minute. It's around $150,000 a second.

Since 1967 the price has gone from something in the area of $40,000 to today's reported figure of $4.5 million. An increase of more than 10,000 percent.
