New South Wales Police say they will co-operate fully with an inquiry into the handling of the Martin Place siege and gunman Man Monis.
Monis was on bail on serious charges at the time of the terror attack and all bail cases that bear any similarity to his case will be reviewed.
Police Commissioner Andrew Scippione says they can only focus on their job of catching offenders.
"There will be decisions that from time to time we might not be happy with, but at the end of the day that is what courts are there for, and on this occasion that's part of what will be looked at.
"And certainly from my perspective, I don't want to pre-empt any review that the Premier or the Prime Minister have announced."
