Two bodies have been discovered in a multimillion-dollar Airbnb in Brisbane during a police welfare check.

Police carried out the check around lunchtime yesterday when the bodies, believed to be a mother and child, were found.

Police said the pair were known to each other, but did not confirm their relationship.

The large property was deemed a crime scene as police launched an investigation into the circumstances of the incident.

Queensland Police said there is no ongoing threat to the public.

No arrests have been made, and no suspects are currently being searched for by police, according to the Daily Mail.

The property in the suburb of Kenmore Hills is listed on Airbnb for more than A$1000 a night with a five-night minimum stay.

The listing described the 2.5-acre property as a “relaxing, beautifully quiet and peaceful luxury home”.

It has an 8m infinity pool, and backs onto Mount Coot-tha National Park, the listing said.

The Brisbane Times said the home last sold for A$2.5 million ($2.8m) in 2022.
